LIFE’S A GAS…

January 3, 2009

…THEN YOU FREEZE TO DEATH!!!!

Right, this is now the third day of the Scottish Power showdown…and they were not there for two of ‘em as Thursday and Friday were Bank Holidays for the Scots!!

On Thursday Robert put £15 on the pre-payment card…the meter rejected it.  He then activated and put another £10 on the new card…the meter rejected that also!  He phoned Scottish Power…no-one there, so he had to phone another number…that told him to contact…Scottish Power!!

He got in contact with National Grid, who sent an engineer out to look at our meter…the cards were rejected, so he zeroed it and put £4 emergency credit on for us…which lasted a day!

Yesterday, Robert phoned Scottish Power…this is when we found out that they have the 2nd as Bank Holiday, too!  Again, National Grid were going to send an engineer…same again, but he phoned to let us know that he couldn’t make it due to workload…gas leaks to deal with, so re-arranged for this morning.  (I forgot to switch the door entry system back on…ooops!)

Robert has made five phone-calls this morning…Scottish Power are sorry, they can’t do anything about it…or words to that effect!  He was told to put money on the card…!  Doh!!  We have twenty-five pounds on the frickin’ cards!!  They need a meter reading…Robert told them.  The guy said the last reading was Dec 7…Robert told him again!!  Then there was something about money owed and meter readings and how long it would take…so Robert said that they have all those details every time we used the bloody card…that’s what they are for!!!

At the moment, we have no gas…OK, we have a little electric heater and a microwave to be thankful for, but to be fobbed off with excuses for not refunding our money, or getting this thing resolved quickly…there’s customer care and service for you!  Not!!!

All these power companies are the same…they only want your money!!  As for the rest, we can go to blazes!!!!  Would we be treated the same if we were elderly, sick, or had small children…?  Of course we would!!  What do they care for human frailty…?!!!!!!

Stay calm. Relax. It\’s not personal. They hate everybody equally.Have a pot noodle and watch the racing.Remember, putting your head in the microwave will invalidate the quarantee.

Thanks…the engineer did put £10 emergency credit on for us.When I told Robert what the chap said, he said that SP had told him that it will take two weeks to sort it…! Yes, but now he has to contact them and quote this fail/fault 23 at them…and he\’d better tell them to get it sorted!!!

My comment in all of this is Sandi, given that they are aware of the cold weather we\’re having at the moment and the time it would take to realistically fix the issue, why the Hell didn\’t they credit you with a realistic amount???? Standard Answer is "Sorry Missus, just following guide lines" I hope they\’re on your door first thing tomorrow……….. xxx

Yo Sandi, hope it is sorted 2day. Just 4 good measure it might be worth u emailing them with a complaint. Ringing up & complaining is worth diddly squat. Writing however, demands a written response back & always gets balls rolling as they are then answerable that the complaint has been dealt with & u have a date in writing by when the work will be done! Good Luck! Luv PF XXX

We had our \’lectric on one of those meters and it just kept eating money. When we asked them to swap it over to a normal meter they found out the old one was faulty. Did they want to pay us back any money we\’d spent? Noooo. How did they know we didn\’t use it all? Things are much better now and they will be for you soon too. By the power of greyskull; I HAVE THE POWER!!!!!!
