Aliens? No, Just A Wedding Party

June 4, 2009

Oh, what fun!!  This news story in The Lincolnshire Echo really tickled me, this week.

It was reported that mysterious lights had been seen hovering over the west end of town, and that people had been phoning the paper to report the sighting.   http://www.thisislincolnshire.co.uk/news/Did-mysterious-lights/article-1040208-detail/article.html

Photos of the orange lights were shown, and one observer said that they appeared to ‘be wind-blown’.  Aha!  I said to Robert that they sound like those Chinese lanterns that are like miniature hot-air balloons, and are made of paper….and that is what they turned out to be.http://www.iwantoneofthose.com/love-heart-flying-lanterns/index.html

There were fifty of them, released from The Lawn, as part of wedding celebrations, and what is so funny, though, is how this story made the nationals, and, more especially, the Sun’s reporting of it.  ROFLMAO!!!  Have they made a huge cake of themselves, or what!!http://www.thisislincolnshire.co.uk/news/Aliens-just-wedding-party/article-1047730-detail/article.html

It is, isn\’t it. I believe most party supply places stock them these days…but we have said for years that Lincoln is so far behind the times that computers are relatively new here…!! (OK, not so much now that the uni brings in students who are into all the latest fads)I know, I\’ve been told a zillion times not to exaggerate!!

All joking aside, I have seen orange lights without any explanation for them. And the closer I moved towards them, the further away they seemed. The further I walked way, the closer they got. They flew in formation too! I don\’t think mine were chinese lanterns. There was an interesting report on yahoo this morning about the film footage that\’s been released by NASA showing strange happenings in space. I find it all fascinating but then, my Dad claims to be an alien so I have a personal interest :-)I like (sadly) the wedding where they all dressed up as cowboys and indians, where the cowboys all got arrested for carrying artificial guns through the street. Overkill or what?I think the lantern idea was lovely. xx

Ok so now you know my head is full of goo; I\’ve just remembered reading about it when it happened. Am I a divvy or what? (Don\’t answer that!!)

Double divvy. It wasn\’t that wedding but another one similar a month or so back where the same thing happened.Sandi, never send me to that site; I want EVERYTHING!!!!!!!! Gonna get me one of those umbrellas one day with the lights in. Then I\’ll really know I\’ve got lights above me. Going to stop thread jacking now *slaps wrist*.

I have long believed that we have been successfully slaved by aliens. Go on…deny that your cat or dog does not hold you captive to cater for its every need. They can understand and be understood with no need to lower themselves to speak our language, it is us who keep repeating ourselves.."who\’s a good boy then? is he a good boy? good boy, wanna go walkies?!!". "here kitty kitty kitty, want din dins? who\’s a pretty pusscat then?". They do not ask us questions, they know what we are thinking and they make sure it is all about them. This is cunning indeed as it eliminates reasoning and arguing to their benefit.

Couldn\’t it be aliens \’disguised\’ as Chinese Lanterns….they are after all fiendishly clever! 🙂

Wipes eyes and takes a deep breath…recovers from choking fit after reading comments whilst eating lunch!!!Thanks for that Rachel! Still got a bit stuck in my throat! LOL!! (Am trying not to wake Robert!)Anne, don\’t they say that dogs have owners, and cats have servants. Sly, crafty little blighters! Gotta love \’em though.I Want One Of Those is brilliant. I bought Robert a graphic equaliser T-shirt, which he wore to the pub…and everyone wanted to know where he got it…now he wants the baseball cap. I just want the Racing Grannies…(simple things and all that…)

Too much doom and gloom is reported…it\’s depressing, and so negative. I think that newspapers should add a good mix of positive stories, to counter-balance the depressing ones.

Why have you got something stuck in your throat AND trying to not wake Robert? Surely he\’d want to be awake for that!!!!!!I blame Eileen, she started it. I told her it was contagious but she wouldn\’t listen. Going for a cold shower now before I get even worse. xx

I\’m getting really ratty now…I\’ve spent the evening trawling through craft websites looking for instructions on how to make ribbon bows and rosette-type thingummies…and ruined a length of satin ribbon trying to make one…which looks crap!! (Stomps off gnashing teeth and muttering…!!!)

Naked, Eileen…? If they were naked, do you think Bran\’s ticker could take the strain? Most men would say "What a way to go!" (With a smile on his face!!)It\’s been a while, then, Rachel? Know the feeling…ahem!

Its not the semi-naked models that worries me, its the fact they forget I\’m there! Hived that task off this year, got myself a (female) assistant to take care of them so I can take a break when the fashion show is on. If people wonder what this is about check out http://www.3wishesfaeryfest.co.uk/ and all will be revealed. Hey we have a snake charming burlesque dancer as part of the off stage caberet this year, now that should set some of the male pulses moving!
