Here Is The Weather Report…

June 17, 2009
…Cloudy and grey…!  But at least it is comfortably cool with a lovely breeze.

Well, Wednesday already, and Robert is on his way home from a few days spent in London, catching up with his old school mates…there goes my peace and quiet…Wink…hope he took lots of photos, being as he pinched the camera (hence no photos on here)!!  He’s going back down on Friday, I think he said, as he has pool tomorrow evening.

For the last week or so, a very skinny little cat has been hanging around here, and I have fed him.  I took some ham out for him, and he nigh on snatched it out of my hand, so Glynis gave me some of Hector’s biscuits, which dear little Hector did not look too pleased about.  The cat is a soft fudgy colour, so I call him Fudgy, or Mr Ginge (my dad used to get called Mr Ginge when he was in the army, in Egypt in the fifties).

Well, Robert gave me a hand, on Sunday evening, when I tried on the mock-up of the bodice…it fitted!  Yay!!  I have unpicked it and used it as a pattern for the bodice proper, and am now in the process of sewing it back together properly, then I will use it as lining.  Fingers crossed that they both fit together properly, and that they fit when finished…!  If it turns out to be a bit too big, it won’t matter as I will be adding a drawstring to the neck-line and waistband.  If it turns out to be too small…I’ll just have to try and lose a couple of inches…Sad

I think that’s all for now…nothing exciting to report…yet.  So, have a lovely day…whatever the weather…!!

The weather is lovely and sunny but cool breeze here. Day would be perfect if only they would let Kath out of hospital. She has been in three times in two months and each time nothing is wrong but she finds more excuses to stay each time they say she can come home. She does not realise it will end up in her going to a carehome in the end! She was 92 last saturday. Been avoiding grumbling about hassle of looking after her house and dogs and going to work and coping with his strops etc etc but think it is catching up with me. oh well!

Bad boys…?!! I wish I had some o\’they…! I will have to resort to false bosoms, methinks!!! Shhhh…don\’t tell anyone…!Have a good old-fashioned grumble, Anne…get it off your…er…bad boys…? Poor old Kath…she would hate going into a home…or would she? If she is enjoying being looked after…but a hospital is different from a home…no, she\’d hate it! Have you tried to explain it to her? That\’s probably a \’yes\’…silly question!It\’s just started raining here…doesn\’t look like much, just a few spots

My Gran went into a home last year. On one visit she started packing her bags and said that there was no way anyone could afford to keep her in a hotel like that one so she was going home. Dear of her, she\’s not mentally with us any more but it just goes to show how good the home is. I think she\’s taken to knitting for everyone in there now. I miss her :\'( even though she does make us laugh with her antics.

Sounds like a nice place…especially when you\’re always hearing about the awful places in the media. She\’s a lucky lady.

My nana (91) went into a care home a few years ago now (the house wasn\’t really big enough for the hoist and it got too much). To be honest I\’d say she actually improved mentally to start with because of the activity around her, she sometimes has relatively lucid days and can sometimes string a few words together.Have a good old grumble Anne – I do most of the time!It\’s grey and windy here too and trying to rain (so far just a few spots)….

My eldest is going to get rather wet on the walk home from school. Should\’ve taken her coat like I told her to. Silly thing doesn\’t even have a jumper and I can\’t go and pick her up because they always walk across the school fields and will be soaked by the time they get to the road.

No rain here yet, I did just leave Kath (brought her home from hospital at 7.30 this evening dragging her heels) and it was spitting with rain at her house 4 miles away but got home and it is bone dry.

Had planned to spend this evening sewing, Natalia…unfortunately, I\’ve picked up someone\’s bug and feel absolutely dreadful…throat hot and sore, eyes hot and sore, feel a bit shivery…and I don\’t want a cup of tea…or anything to eat. I think I\’ll do some warm milk and go to bed…where\’s my book…?These days, I\’m not sure I\’d call them \’Ladies\’ at Ascot these days…mostly \’celebs\’…totally lacking in taste…tend to over-do things a tad…!Anyway…nighty, night peeps…sees ya all later…XXX

Thanks guys…feeling better this morning…just a bit of a chesty cough, sniffles and headache. I sat in bed, last night, wrapped up to the eyeballs. I was going to read, book was on my lap, but I just sat there, propped against the pillows….listening to the birds singing. Then I felt as though I was going to combust, so off it all came! Hope I don\’t feel like crap tonight…!!
