The Day So Far…!!

July 28, 2009

For all my good intentions to spend the day sewing, I have not even touched a needle yet.

As I have been thinking about what to write and in what order, the day has felt a bit like Chip’s good news/bad news blog from last week…but not so confusing and involved!  Here’s what I mean…

Feeling OK this morning, so decided to start in the kitchen with the washing-up, and continue cleaning from there.

Received text from my friend Jo informing me that her partner, Alv, is in hospital with an in-operable brain tumour.  Both Robert and I shocked by the news, so I text back sending our love and prayers.  (Just what do you say when you receive such news?)

Got ready and caught the bus into town without having to wait long.

Rail barriers came down.  Nearly ten minutes went by as two trains (single carriages) went through, a few minutes apart, and a few more minutes passed as we waited for…a freight train.  No, I didn’t count the rolling stock attached to this one!!  Missed bus up to the hospital.

Got into bus station and saw the next hospital bus already in and letting on passengers.  Straight off one bus and onto the next!  Oh, yes!

Young mothers with noisy kids that they couldn’t (or couldn’t be bothered) to control also on the bus!

Finally, I got to see Mum, half-an-hour into the two-hour visiting time.  Poor Mum is very bored, tired, aching, and just wants to go home, but they won’t let her go home until she gets a bit stronger and can manage on her own.  She’d been asked all the questions about her needs, and how she managed prior to being admitted…managed very well, as she was fit and well and kept active, etc.

Of course, if she cannot eat properly without feeling ill, then she isn’t going to get her strength back.  She also has to drink three of their energy drinks a day, and is struggling to manage one, at the moment, and is mainly sipping just water.  There is nothing for patients to do, except sit around, and I know how much that can make your joints and back ache!!  (How do you get well when sitting around makes you feel like shit…?!!!!)

As this ‘illness’ was all caused by her cholesterol medication, it is going to take time for it to be flushed out of her system, just as it is going to take a few weeks for my Thyroxine to properly take effect…or any medication to take proper effect and vice versa.  I just hope Mum does not have to stay too long in hospital…it’s not healthy!

Anyway, visiting time over and it was back to bus stop for the ride back to town.  Oh, no!  Boisterous child who totally ignored his mother’s orders/pleas/cajoling, and continued a non-stop battle with an imaginary foe using ‘swords/light sabres, machine guns (his favourite!)’ and any other weapon he could think of!!

Back at bus station, I dashed to the pharmacy and got a refund on my prescriptions, then into the Co-op for a couple of bits.  The bus was already in, so on I hopped, but as I was coming home I wasn’t too bothered by the traffic hold-ups…oh, no…home and a nice cup of tea for me!  All in all, it has been a bit of an up and down sort of day!

So, my thoughts and prayers, today, are for Jo and Alv at this very difficult time, and for my mum.  XXX

RM. Use the .22 snipe with scope. I\’ve perfected the bullets. Glycerine (water is too brittle) tips set in liquid nitrogen, but don\’t hone the tips, leave them square (again tipped breaks up in the muzzle). After the shot the glycerin melts leaving no barrell evidence. \’Vasoline\’ works well resulting in death by cosmetics…… Just a passing thought for you to savour.

An empty plastic soda bottle duct taped to the barrel of Frankie\’s single shot, scoped, bolt action .22 makes a surprisingly effective suppressor (silencer to those who watch TV) for a single shot so we\’ll need 2. Of course, I\’ve tried it, wouldn\’t you? I mean,………….um…………. er……….. well, what I mean to say is that I HEARD it would work, not that I would ever dream of actually……

Exactly! Not healthy places to be…if you\’re not sick when you go in, you sure as heck are when you come out!! It\’s the inactivity that does it…it\’s awful! I remember when I was in for only four days, and having nothing to do but sit around…my hips and back were killing me by the time I was discharged. Anyone who is in for more than a few days will be in need of physio!!The dog, downstairs, has been barking on and off…I only hope it\’s another one that she\’s looking after for someone…couldn\’t be doing with that all the time!! It\’s quiet down there, at the moment…apart from the blasted dog that is!!

I couldn\’t cope with living in a flat again, I hated it when I lived in one years ago! That\’s what I like about my friends house.. he lives in a tiny Hamlet of about 6 houses!

Chip sure has a lot of unseemly ideas…am beginning to think that with his knowledge he must be related to Horatio Caine….or is he really him?! Both names have a C and an i in them, coincidence or what? Even more so if his middle name has an S in it!! Getting a bit X File now.

I love living in a flat, Eileen, though I do miss that personal space around called a garden!! The previous tenants of that flat were a normal, older, working couple…why can\’t we have someone like them in there again? Why can\’t the troll sell the flat and go and live on one of those estates up yon end of town, where she\’d be more at home! (I\’d much rather put up with hearing Eastenders on their TV than foul language, door slamming and dogs barking! Not to mention beer cans and dog-ends just thrown out of the windows!!)

Your block of flats must be much nicer than the one I lived in then! I had neighbours below me that were eventually evicted because of health and hygiene reasons (you seriously don\’t want to know how bad that got) they were replaced with people that had a nasty bulldog and held raves every weekend (from 5pm friday through to 9pm sunday). I was burgled and threatened by another, we also had \’captain caveman\’ who had mental health issues and had to be given a \’holiday\’ every year so they could fumigate, decorate and refurnish his flat – he was also on a particular drug to suppress certain unnatural urges (need I say more?). It was horrible, I got to the stage where I couldn\’t go out because the bulldog would sit outside my front door and growl at me if I opened it!

Oh, yes! The trolls would fit in nicely where you\’ve described! Luckily, people like that don\’t get put round here…and if they do, they aren\’t here for long before they get moved…unless they buy the bloody flat! I thought the flat belonged to the older woman who used to live with the troll…then troll moved out. Next thing we know, older woman moved out, troll moved back in, then rented it out last year…result…lots of major trouble and the place got wrecked! She moved back in, and her latest girlfiend (not mis-spelled) has been a real bad \’un…\’bottom of the barrel\’ type. Result…rows, door-slamming, foul language, and last night\’s episode!!! Let\’s hope she\’s history!!

It has just occured to me that the smaller a species brain.. the more they tend to follow the pack aspire to be like their fellow beings without striving to evolve and live in colonies of their own mentality eg. fish, ants, rats, young lads, families with walnut-sized brains, well something like that anyway! Yeah…one big mass if issues, so we never knew what kind of mood you were going to be in, or who you was going to pick a fight with. Never a dull moment over at Tigrx\’s space!! Then you were Beachcomber for a while…nice and serene…for a while…but still fun. That wasn\’t really you, though, was it!Your temper is quick, Robin, but subsides just as quickly, and I wish that I could be more like that…but I tend to sit and simmer…not good. But I know where you\’re coming from, and how angry and frustrated you have been, so, like you say…not you in your right mind. I normally steered clear for a while then tentatively peered in to see if you were back to your old self again…!Wouldn\’t life be just so-o-o-o-o boring if we were all mild-mannered and happy, bouncy individuals all the time! We all have our issues, and deal with them in different ways….now I have another issue that I thought was resolved that has resurfaced with MORE bloody charges added on…after the date of the letter I received saying my balance was £14.97…which I went and paid. So as far as I am concered, the account is paid and closed!! Sneaky bar stewards!!!!!!

I always try to understand how people feel, by imagining myself in their position…I know I am me, and they are them, and we are all different in temperament, but it helps to understand how people feel and why they feel the way they do. I know you can never truly feel what someone else feels unless you have experienced it yourself…but saying that, we all deal with similar situations in different ways…and I\’m beginning to waffle again…LOL!!The trolls have just started talking a bit louder…then came the laughter…getting louder until they are practically shouting and really sounding as if they are forcing the laughter…!! Yesterday…weather totally crap, and Mum wasn\’t expecting me to visit, but I did finally get there, after a few delays. Sis was there, so Mum did have a visitor if I hadn\’t made it.Anyway, just as we were about to leave, the doc came over and told Mum that she could go home when she was ready and had made arrangements for being picked up. Well, she couldn\’t pack her stuff quick enough! Sis was chauffeur and I was baggage handler, so I made a bit of a show of being weighed down (what on earth was in that bag? Bricks?!!! Oh, no, it was all the toiletries that Mum\’s visitors had been leaving for her!!)Mum managed to make the walk from the ward to the main entrance, then across to the other side of the car park to sis\’s car….the furthest she\’s walked for th last two to three weeks!! Do you want some chavs too…a chavvy couple have just turned up…she\’s gone in and he\’s waiting outside with the Staffy-type dog!! People round here don\’t like these types because they feel intimidated by them…which is understandable when said chavvy types tend to swear and curse a lot, drink lager all the time, and lash out when mad…which can happen at the least provocation!! There is always friction when their bad behaviour and lifestyles clash with the rest of the neighbourhood, resulting in lord knows what kind of vindictiveness on their part!! How long is the bugger going to skulk about out there?! Why does he not go away?!!

He is probably \’curtain twitcher\’ watching….now I wonder who that would be?!

Chavvy girl has now arrived with another Staffy-type dog…oh, great! It\’s OK…they\’ve buggered off and left the gate open! Typical! Give me bikers any day!!!!

He was probably skulking behind the wall rolling a spliff! I think we\’ve all become curtain-twitchers round here in the last year or two, with some of the undesirables that have been seen coming and going. Other people\’s property has gone missing or been damaged, and people have started to feel nervous. It never used to be like this…not until the troll moved back to the flat on her own..!

hiya Sandi, theres not much you can say in circumstances like that, and just pray for a miracle. just hope your mum is feeling better soon, it may be worth getting her a piece of carnelian, it is excellent for anyone who is convalescing, it also works on blood problems.also… for thyroid problems, try a rtone called Sodalite (blue in colour) it works on the throat chakra, try getting a sodalite necklace, one that sits over the throat chakra. cleaning crystals is east enough… just plant them out in your garden over night, push them into the earth leave them over night, and then wash them under running water allow to dry in sunlight. if you have no garden as such place the crystal in a plant pot… overnight, etc., as for your neighbour.. i\’ll give that one some thoughtlove n hugsdebsxXxhopw that helps hun..

Thanks, Debs…no garden, but plenty of plant pots. Does it matter if the are house plants? Shouldn\’t think so because it\’s to do with the energy of growing things, or something…?

Hmmm…hope she has gone home by now. Stopping that late at the office is not good for someone who has been as poorly as she has…probably still not feeling 100% yet, either.

Hope Eileen can recharge her batteries at the weekend bat watching again. Hope again that nobody else in the office gets what she had and leaves her with a double workload!

So do I. A double workload is not the ideal thing when you arrive back at the office with badly depleted batteries…you just end up even more run down!
